Engaged couples wishing to be married in the Catholic Church must contact their parish priest or deacon at least six months prior to the anticipated wedding date. It is recommended that you make contact at the very beginning of your engagement.
If you or someone is at the point of requesting a wedding or marriage in the church one of the two, at least, must be a fully initiated Catholic and the non-/Catholic party would have to agree to the conditions. No matter if both parties are Catholic or only one, you must both be "free to marry" in the church, meaning no previous marriage (or common law marriage) or if so a certified divorce and annulment. A minister (or ministers) of the church will talk and meet with the couple to "walk them through" these and other aspects of marriage in the church. Some documents are required as well as a certified marriage preparation course which the archdiocese provides. Presently, the marriage days and times are Saturdays at 10:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. Please note that we cannot "book" or "confirm" a date under pressure from the wedding couple and family due to the need to "book" or "confirm" the wedding venue. Weddings in the church do not work that way. In fact, St. Anthony Church has two facilities or venues that may be available too (see the rental section of the webpage).
